Drawing Nute Gunray
September 02, 2005
Ever wanted to draw Star Wars characters just like the professional comic book artists? In this step-by-step series, Star Wars artists and illustrators show you how to draw some of the most beloved characters in the saga, as well as new faces and creatures from Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith (available on DVD Nov. 1). So get your pencils and paper ready!
We may have seen the demise of this Nemoidian in Episode III, but he is quite memorable among the many new creatures and humanoids in the Prequel Trilogy. His lavish, flowing robes and ornate headdresses are a sharp contrast to those frightening red eyes and greenish skin, making him a colorful example of why the creatures of the Star Wars universe are so fun to draw.
Star Wars illustrator Cynthia Cummens explains her easy steps to draw Nute Gunray with examples below.
Steps 1-5 are to be drawn lightly with a pencil. No pen, no dark lines. Finished lines and details will come at the end.
